Yellow Fever Vaccitation

Brazil recommends yellow fever vaccination to:

1) international travelers coming from areas at risk of yellow fever  (See Map); and,

2) travellers over 9 months old who intend to visit following yellow fever risk areas in Brazil (See Map):

  • Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Distrito Federal, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins; and
  • Some parts of the following states: Southwest of Piauí, West and Southernmost of Bahia, West of São Paulo, North of Espírito Santo, West of Paraná, West of Santa Catarina and West of Rio Grande do Sul.

Important: To be protected against yellow fever, the traveller must be vaccinated at least 10 (ten) days before travelling. The vaccination has the validity of 10 (ten) years.
In Japan, yellow fever vaccination can be administrated at Quarantine Station. See the contact at the homepage of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan, Quarantine Station (http://www.forth.go.jp/archive/tourist/vaccine.html).

International certificate of yellow fever vaccination is not required on arrival in Brazil.
This Certificate will be required only for international travellers coming from yellow fever affected area that causes risk of international disease spread. At present, there is no such area, however, you shall follow further anouncements.
